Calisthenics

Are you looking to start calisthenics for beginners in East London? I am a female calisthenics trainer based in Hackney. I train clients in calisthenics from two indoor studio locations - Shoreditch and Stoke Newington.

What is Calisthenics?
Calisthenics or 'Cali' as it is known for short, at a most basic level is resistance training with your body, gravity and little to no equipment. Think pull ups, push ups and pistol squats, as well more advanced exercises like muscle ups, back levers and human flags.

Ever wondered how to get your first pull up? Well, this is a popular goal for many of my clients, both male and female, and is a skill I can help you to develop with a structured approach to training. Maybe your push up looks more like a worm dance, and you want some specific technical focus and progression exercises to perfect it and hit some clean reps.

If you've attended calisthenics classes in London you'd be forgiven for thinking it's all about upper body and core. Things like pull ups and push ups are often the focus of group calisthenics classes, whilst lower body skills that are a bit more complex to learn due to the mobility requirements get overlooked. If you're interested in improving mobility and lower body strength then I can help you to unlock new skills like pistol squats, sissy squats and reverse nordic curls. These are a great way of getting a full body calisthenics workout in.

Training calisthenics indoors allows us a greater use of equipment, with access to pull up bars, gymnastics rings, parallettes and even a ladder wall (Shoreditch).

If you are looking for somewhere to train calisthenics in Stoke Newington, Clapton, Dalston, Newington or Newington Green then the Stoke Newington studio is the ideal location - an easy walk or cycle from these locations to the the bottom of Stoke Newington Road.

If you are looking for somewhere to train calisthenics nearer The City, Shoreditch, Old Street or Bethnal Green, then the Shoreditch gym is the ideal location, with tonnes of local transport and just a short walk from Liverpool Street Station.
